In recent years, SZBG has paid more and more attention to new media communication and actively utilized our website, WeChat public account, webcast, and Weibo. Among them, the new website of the Garden is about to complete upgrade soon by using HTML5 network.

Since its establishment in April 2016, the WeChat public account of the Garden (szbgac) has been a self-media platform integrating plant science, education, tourism, news, and event recruitment, etc. So far, the number of followers is the largest among all the domestic botanical gardens, exceeding 980,000. More than 650 items have been posted and have received over 3.7 million reads.

The Garden has used webcasts for certain important events since 2019, especially in 2020 due to the impact of Covid-19, the number of live broadcasts has been increased. The latest event was during the 2020 National Science Day (Sep. 12), a live webcast was launched in the series of activities of Bees picking flowers, honey brewing life, and two international lectures were broadcast live which attracted large audiences.
