Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Southern Subtropical Plant Diversity

The Key Laboratory consists of six research teams focusing on phylogeny and conservation biology of gymnosperms, plant diversity inventory and ex-situ protection, plant phylogeny and evolution, plant resource and utilization, and horticulture and landscape. It is composed of 17 different individual laboratories with different research lines. Basic research focuses on cycads,Magnolia, bryophytes, ferns, Gesneriads,Begonia, Plumeria, and local plant diversity. Applied researchincludes new techniques of rooftop and vertical greening, cultivation of ornamental shrubs and grasses, and innovation in the analysis and production of new medicinal products.
The Shenzhen Urban Forest Ecosystem Research Station in Guangdong

The Shenzhen Urban Eco-Station focuses on the city, forest, human settlement environment and monitors the urban forest ecosystem structure, pattern, function, and its impact on the regulation to the ecological environment in city. The station evaluates the urban forest ecological service function and provides technical support to improve the urban forest ecosystem service function for human life. This Station consists of one major station and five auxiliary stations which are located at different place in the urban, suburban and remote regions of Shenzhen. The main station is located in the Garden. The Phase I work will be finished by the end of 2020, and the meteorology, air quality and water quality of forest environment will be monitored immediately.
Shenzhen Research Center of Landscape Architecture

The Shenzhen Research Center of Landscape Architecture is a special faculty which was set up in SZBG after Shenzhen Institute of Landscape Science was merged into the SZBG in 2010. The Center initiated and established the Shenzhen Landscape & Architecture Innovation Alliance, and aims to accumulate innovative resources, make up the shortcomings of technology, and strengthen the technological innovation by uniting the landscape companies, universities and research institutions in the city.
