Gymnosperm Collection
Built in 1993, the Gymnosperm Collection is located in the western mountain of Fairy Lake,
and opposite from the Palm Lawn. It includes Conifer and Rhododendron Section, Gymnosperm Systematic
Garden, Botanists’ Memorial Garden, Sightseeing Pavilion, Tingtao Pavilion, Zhuang Pavilion, Central
Pavilion, Looking Lake Pavilion, and Stone Pavilion. More than one hundred gymnosperms from all over
China have been conserved in this area. Several gymnosperms are species of national protection, such as
Cathaya argyrophylla, Cephalotaxus fortunei, Pinus fenzeliana,
Nageia fleuryi and Taxus chinensis.
