Fern Conservation Center
The Fern Conservation Center, also known as Fern Garden, is a specialized facility that collects and displays ferns, integrating the functions of research, nature education, and tourism, with a land area of about 2 hectares. Located to the north of Hongfa Temple, Fern Conservation Center is the highest of all gardens in SZBG in terms of elevation. The terrain is steep and covered by lush secondary forest. A stream valley is in the middle which surrounded by a circular wooden plank road. This provides a perfect ex-situ locality for ferns. About 500 species of ferns conserved here come from worldwide, but most are from the subtropics and tropics of China. On the left side of the entrance there is an exhibition hall, Knowing Fern Hall, introducing of the basic biology of ferns.
