Bamboo Collection
Bamboos have great ornamental, cultural and economic value. China is one of the diversity centers of bamboos in the world, and with many endemic species and genera. Bamboos are also widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions with monsoon climates. The Bamboo Collection was initiated in 1986 and is located to the north of the Palm Collection. The bamboos are mainly species from south and southwest China, and about 200 species are represented, for example Phyllostachys aurea, P. aureosulcata, and Dendrocalamus latiflorus.
