Lakeshore is a core area of SZBG, including the Palm Lawn, Palm Collection, Fairy Lake, and Fairy Islet. There are various palms grown on the lawn, which creates a tropical landscape. The big council tree (Ficus altissima) near the lake was planted by the late national leader, Mr. Deng Xiaoping, and other big council tree on left side was planted by the late president, Mr. Yang Shangkun. A stone carving of two big Chinese characters, 仙湖, Xian Hu in Pinyin, literally Fairy Lake, is located close the water’s edge. The lawn is one of the favorite places for visitors and is also a place for educational and cultural activities. The Jade Pavilion, located on the western part of lawn, is connected to it by Suolong Bridge. Fairy Lake is a man-made lake with an area of 13.8 hectares. Whenever holidays come, there are always many tourists who come to the shore. It is a wonderfully relaxing place surrounded by green mountains, and the surface of the lake is embellished lace and ribbon patterns when breeze blows.
