Fruit Tree Collection
The Fruit Tree Collection is located on the east side of Crape Myrtle Road, under the
Hongfa Temple, connected to the Bamboo Collection on the west and Bamboo Road on the east. It was built
in 1987 and covers an area of about 2 hectares. This part was upgraded recently in 2018. This area is
generally covered by secondary forest, edible fruit trees and trees of different fruits were planted
sporadically near Bamboo Collection, including lychee (Litchi chinensis), longan
(Dimocarpus longan), Clausena lansium, Artocarpus heterophyllus,
Syzygium samarangense, Myrica rubra, Ilex rotunda,
Sterculia lanceolata and Adenanthera pavonlna, etc. Two trails, Fern Hill Walk and
Lychee Walk, cross this area, surrounded by lush mountains and by streams, creating a quiet and
comfortable environment.
