Orchid and Butterfly Valley
Orchid and Butterfly Valley is located at the Paradise Lawn, near the Magnolia Collection, and to the left of the Shade Garden. It is a themed garden specifically focused on orchids and butterflies and serves for both conservation and public education. Orchid and Butterfly Valley consists of three sections: Butterflies and orchids, the Butterflies Show and the Orchid Valley. Butterflies and Orchids is the major section near the entrance, and conserves a lot of beautiful and unique orchids, such as boat orchid (Cymbidium), dancing lady (Oncidium), Dendrobium, and Phaius, the Venus slipper (Paphiopedilum), Calanthe, Arundina, Bulbophyllum and Coelogyne, etc. Plants that offer nectar for butterflies are grown here in the Valley to attract butterflies.

Butterflies Show is located in the middle of the Valley and is split by a small streamlet with a scallop-shaped exhibition house on each side – the Butterfly House to the right and Orchid House to the left, for displaying essential knowledge and specimens of butterflies and orchids. Orchid Valley is natural and quiet, connected by a circular wooden plank road, displaying various epiphytic orchids and shade-tolerant plants.
