Paradise Scenery
Paradise Scenery, consisting of the Magnolia Collection, Shade Garden, Orchid and
Butterfly Valley, Tree Fern Pond and Heavenly Lake, is the most attractive sector of the Garden.
Paradise Lawn is in the center. Rows of Araucaria heterophylla are planted in lines to the
south and east of the lawn. In the Shade Garden, you can see some species that are under national
protection such as Camellia nitidissima, Angiopteris fokiensis, and
Isoetes sinensis, but also other shade-loving plants such as Conandron,
Begonia, Hoya, Ananas and bryophytes. There are lots of spectacular orchids
and butterflies in Orchid and Butterfly Valley. The newly built Rose Garden is around the Heavenly Pond.
Although the pond is relatively small, it boasts three vivid marble statues, like three fairies playing
together, in the middle of the pond. The tree fern Alsophila spinulosa, also a national
protected species, is planted around Tree Fern Pond. Varieties of flowers are blooming around the pond
and make for fascinating scenery in all four seasons.
