Fairy Lake Plaza
If you travel from downtown of the city of Shenzhen, you arrive at Fairy Lake Plaza at the
southeast corner of the Garden first before you start your garden journey. There are several bus routes
connecting the garden and the city. The area of the plaza is about 2 hectares. A traditional Chinese
archway, the Main Entrance of the Garden, is at the center. The archway is 12.75 m high and 33.5 m wide,
dividing the plaza into two parts. A white marble statue of a flying fairy is located in the center of
parterre in front of the archway. The left side of the archway is the tourist service center and ticket
office, and the right is the security. At the rear of security is the ship-like Bougainvillea
Parking Lot. The terraces of the parking are planted with various cultivars of Bougainvillea.
It is colorful and a must-see scene when the plants are blooming. After entering the archway, royal palm
(Roystonea regia), Norfolk island pine (Araucaria heterophylla) and talipot palm
(Corypha umbraculifera) are planted which are full of tropical scenery. The garden bus ticket
booth and stop are on the right side. On the left, the Administrative Building is above the steps, and
the Fairy Lake Shop is located about 100 m away from the entrance. Souvenirs, potted plants and books
are sold there.
